The first post EVER!

Hey!

So just to answer a few questions that I have been asked each school year. My name is Ashton, and though I do have nicknames I would like to stick to my name as is. I am taking a full load of classes complete with 18 credits. I currently don't really have a JTCC major. I am hoping to get my Associates Degree and transfer. I'm browsing some schools in the area and don't plan to go out of state, looking to pursue a theater major down the line =).
My academic future hopefully holds something good. I plan to pursue my studies and my goal is to eventually establish a steady acting career, and to just be happy in whatever I plan to do or whatever happens along the way. Plans may change, but if I enjoy what I do, then I'll consider my 'goal' reached.
I really enjoy the computer, though sometimes I supposes it can get a bit boring. You can only go on facebook so many times. I have many interests, so web browsing on the computer expands my enjoyment of my interests. For instance, I would say half of my computer time, or a quarter of my computer time would be trying to find the chords/tabs to songs for guitar =) Or looking at an art video on youtube that my grandma sent me =). The computer is also a way to keep in touch withmy family and friends, I moved from New York so email helps me keep in touch with my friends 'n stuff =). So the internet isn't as much as a hobby as much as it's just a way to further expand my other hobbies.
I have a part-time job at Hallmark, I really enjoy it. My full-time job would be being a student.
I like/love many things haha. I have many interests. I am a competitive person who loves playing sports; softball, basketball, horse-back riding, karate, soccer...I've done a lot of sports. I also love to draw, paint, write (poetry etc...), I love to play my guitar <3 Sooooooooo much. I've been sorta teaching myself the instrument the past two years, I learn something new about it everyday. I've also liked to dabble into writing some songs. The list goes on but I'm going to close for now. I think I've covered a good amount for a first post =)

  1. Hey Ashton,

It was nice meeting you today. I too play the guitar. I just recently got a new one for my 18th birthday. I guess technically I started playing or found out I had that capability of playing when I was 7 yrs old. I didn't actually start to get too serious about it until my freshmen year of high school. I also know of a great website to get tabs, chords, etc. but you may have already heard or know of it, it is http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/. It is a great resource that has helped me out tremendously with learning how to play. I've never quite had the talent to write my own songs, so this site comes in handy when I just want to jam with friends and need to look up a song really quick. But hey I'm glad I'm not the only girl who likes to play! I guess I will see you in class on Tuesday =)

  4. Hi Ashton!

What a great first post! You seem like a very well-rounded and likable person. That's cool that you want to go into acting. I have known a couple people who have become very successful in that field, just don't ever give up. Good luck this semester, and see you next class!

  5. So we have a few things in common, or pretty much half of what you listed like playing music-I play a bit of drums, flute, piano and I pick up a guitar every ONCE IN A WHILE, soccer-played it forever, writing-I have a few poems published, interest in art, horses-got my first at 5, took Karate, and I to have not declared a major, I enjoy doing such a wide range of things its hard to pick just one direction.
